Landscape conservation execution planning (LAP)A14 Magdeburg-Halle, route-remote compensation measures The new construction of the national motorway A 14 between Magdeburg and Halle is considered one of the great road construction projects of the last years in the new federal states. As compensation for the interferences connected with the construction of the motorway, an extensive compensation measure in the area of the Bode meadowland east of Neugattersleben (district of Bernburg) was planned, among others, the execution planning and construction supervision of which was realized by the Landscape and Environmental Planning Department. Due to conversion of farm land into green land, reduced utilization, creation of succession stretches or reforestation for the development of new stretches of lowland forests, both the landscape and its significance as habitat have been considerably upgraded, which is also in the interests of the developmental aims of the nature preserve “Bodeniederung”.
