Road tunnel B 96, Berlin The road tunnel of the national road B 96 serves the junction-free, underground connection between the canal Landwehrkanal in the south and the street Invalidenstraße in the north of Berlin. Through tunnel and ramp constructions, the buildings of the square Potsdamer Platz, the park Tiergarten, the river Spree as well as the new train station Lehrter Bahnhof are crossed underground over a length of approx. 2580 m and linked with each other. The tunnel was realized as a reinforced concrete frame with a minimum clearance of 8.0 m and 10.50 m respectively. It has a soil cover of 1.0 to 7.0 m. The supervision and control of all traffic and operational proceedings is realized in three operation buildings.
