| Rhine-bridge Wesel (Federal road B 58 n) The new Rhine bridge Wesel is the main construction of the federal road B 58n Wesel / Büderich by-pass and replaces the existing bridge over the Rhine, which was built in 1953. The construction is designed as a 130m high cable-stay bridge with a pylon made of high-strength concrete. The cable-anchorings in the pylon are made of steel. The river bridge with the approximately 335 m wide main span over the Rhine is designed as a steel construction owing to the low self weight. The flood bridge is linked rigidly to the river bridge and is designed as a prestressed concrete structure with regular spans of around 65 m.
