Tuti Khartoum North Bridge in Khartoum, Sudan
The structure is located in the center of the Sudanese capitol city and crosses the Blue Nile, which is approx. 550 m wide at this point. Due to the exposed position of the structure, it is designed as a guyed bridge, whereby the main opening is 202.5 m.
The draft provides for a guyed bridge with one pylon, located in the middle strip of the deck. The height of the pylon is approx. 75 m. The orthotropic roadway deck consists of one single-cell hollow steel box and is supported additionally by angular braces in the overhanging areas. The cables are arranged in a fan shape and consist of stranded bundles.
