Pedestrian bridge in the media harbour Düsseldorf

The bridge in the Düsseldorf harbour connects the street Kaistraße with the street Speditionsstraße next to the harbour island.
It is constructed flood safe and traverses the harbour basin on a total length of 145.80 metres. The width of the bridge is constant and comes to 11.60 metres.

The sitting steps emphasize the character of the “slow” bridge and integrate the necessary handrail into the overall view.

The illumination of this bridge is of particular significance.

Already at the beginning of the planning, it was paid special attention to, and the ideas for the lighting were advanced all the time. Into the sitting steps of the stepping, LED-lights are embedded. In combination with the flanking lighting cubes on the bridge deck, they produce amazing light effects. The stairs onto the island as well as the island itself are also illuminated.
